Skincare is a really important aspect of modern-day life. As more of us move into the cities, the lack of fresh air starts biting our skin and not exactly giving it the best pamper. Additionally, with the expectations of social media, more people are feeling pressured to have flawless skin. I must be completely honest and say that flawless skin is impossible to achieve. However, it isn’t impossible to take good care of your skin! In this post I am sharing with you both my morning and nighttime skincare routines.
Disclaimer: just because these methods of cleansing work for me doesn’t mean they’ll work for you! If you do have problem skin, consult a professional. I personally know nothing on the subject so please don’t take my advice over an experts. Though I do want to recommend good products, I cannot guarantee they will give you the results I received.
Morning
I begin my day with a gentle cleanse to the face, using my Simple Face Wash Bar Soap and a flannel. To begin I run a sink of hot water and then damp my face. Though this does not open your pores as many experts claim, it does mean your facial cleanse with be more thorough. After lathering and rinsing, I pat try with a towel (please don’t rub!)
Then I go in with the Simple Protecting Light Moisturiser. It has UVA in it which delays ageing (I’m not particularly bothered about that right now, but I’m sure my future self will thank me). It also protects you from the sun you receive in the day, consequently preventing any accidental sores from being in the heat for too long.
That is it for the morning! I hardly use makeup, but if I was to touch-up then I’d use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
Night
The nighttime routine is a little more rigorous. I like to strip back all that grime my face has received in the day! It’s really surprising how much dirt you get on it.
I begin the same as the morning, by using the Simple Face Wash Bar Soap and a flannel. This gets off the majority of the day’s sweat and tears, but I follow up with Micellar Water on a cotton-pad. If I had been wearing make-up that day, I’d do the Micellar beforehand. However most days I’m bare-faced!
The moisturiser I use in the evenings is different to the mornings. I use a Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser, which ‘restores’ your skin overnight. I have seen a positive difference in my skin since using opposing moistursiers. I don’t know the science behind it, but if you do please let me know in the comments!
Then I also use some Vaseline after brushing my teeth. For some reason, even in the summers I get dry lips! But by using Vaseline my lips are a lot less dry. Put it this way, I notice when I’ve not used it!
Thank you so much for reading this post! I’m sorry it’s a bit short, but so is my skincare routine.
Do you have a regular skin care routine? Does it differ day to day or do you stick to the same old thing?
Hope you’re all having a great day, and don’t forget to take care of your skin!
Wow…
I can never stick to any skin routine. My only routine for the past 14 years is cold water on my face in the more and shower before going to bed. Occasionally I put coconut oil on my skin and light make-up. That’s it. I’m too lazy for anything else 😂

As a teenager, I know that without a skincare routine I’d look like a pimply ball of redness. So that’s really my motivation to stick with this routine! Thank you for your comment. Sometimes keeping it simple is all we need so I appreciate you sharing that with me 💓 Have a great day 🙃

I was lucky to got away from pimple when I was a teenager, but in exchange I had dry skin and that’s why coconut oil is my best friend 😂
Wish you a wonderful day. 💞

Ahaha 😀 I’m not sure about being fortunate. It was really horrible because I felt like a crocodile.

Sorry about that, but we all have different extremes! Hope your skin is feeling better now though. Mine is certainly getting better since going outside more (walks and in the garden, rather than stuffy classrooms).
Stay safe!

Many people I follow online have claimed this quarantine is great to take care of ourselves, and that their skin is thanking them, however, being home has been so stressful for me, my skin looks even worse! I’ve been trying to follow my skincare routine everyday, but I’m either lazy or I forget. I usually just cleanse + moisturize in the morning, and cleanse + toner + moisturize at night. I also have some clay masks that I like to do 😅

I’m sorry to hear that! My skin has also been suffering through the stress of this time and sometimes I fall asleep completely forgetting to do my skincare. Hopefully I won’t run out of products – eek!
Ooh, I’m sure it feels nice to have a bit of a pamper with your clay masks. Take care of yourself!

Frank body are my absolute go to for skincare! They have caffeinated scrubs and a charcoal and honey face wash which I use a couple of times a week. I’ve been using their products for a good few years now!

Thank you for the recommendation! I’m definitely going to search them up. Right now I’m concentrating on what I can get close to my house instead of ordering online, though I could be surprised. Hope you’re doing well ❤

I find it hard to stick to a skin care routine – I’m fine in the morning, just in the evening I forget unless I’ve had make up on and then I will.
I’ve used all the products apart from the simple facewash bar so I will deffo look out for it to try out!

Sometimes I do the same, although skincare in the evenings helps the following day feel better. I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of people say that a successful morning starts the night before! The Simple face wash bar isn’t advertised enough but it’s the best plastic-free alternative I’ve come across 🙂
