Hello, welcome back to my blog!
Thank you very much Rhiana @ Marshmallow Harmonies for allowing me to partake in the Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag. I have been reading Rhi’s blog for a while now, and it is so enjoyable! Thank you for all the recommendations as well: my TBR is expanding larger and larger! If you would like to keep up with my constant book-worming then you can check out my Goodreads.
Goodreads has really motivated me to read more. I was reading about 1 book a week and now I’m reading three or four!
Best Book So Far Of 2019
There are so many that could qualify for this place but Wuthering Heights is the best classic novel… ever!
Best Sequel I’ve Read
Definitely Pandemonium and Requiem, from the Delirium trilogy. The sequels were just as good as the first one, if not better.
New Release I Am Yet To Read
The Secret Barrister: Stories of the Law and How It’s Broken. This was released in 2018 so does it class as recent? Besides, I’m intrigued by the synopsis and I think it will be one I will read again and again.
Most Anticipated For The Second Half of 2019
I’m looking forward to the Hunger Games prequel at the start of 2020, but I’m not aware of any new releases in the second half of this year. I’m looking forward to the next in the Rosewood Chronicles by Connie Glynn! Yet, there’s no release date for that.
Biggest Dissapointment
I’ve not been disappointed by any books this year! I don’t look at reviews before I read them. Sometimes I have to just walk into my tiny local library and pick up whatever is available. Most of the time, it’s not even on my TBR…
Biggest Surprise
Okay, I didn’t expect Blood Red Road to be quite so good! The first half of the novel was a bit boring, but then it suddenly got better! I had to read this book in a few sittings, because it didn’t intrigue me at first. But… wow.
Favourite New Author
Could I say Lauren Oliver? The Delirium trilogy, according the fans, was a hit for Oliver – but then it went downhill. I disagree. Though ‘Broken Things’ is a bit confusing a times, the plot is interesting and original.
I’ve only ever read the Twilight series from Stephanie Meyer, but it’s enough to put her on my top ten!
Newest Fictional Crush
Most of them are already dating the main character but…
Ocean – A Very Large Expanse Of Sea
Augustus – The Fault In Our Stars
Alex – Delirium Series
Newest Favourite Character
Sophie from Rooftopppers.
She’s a cellist, adventurer and breaks social normalities to follow her own path. Even though it’s difficult in the 19th century, she eventually gets her own way!
Also Nell from Things A Bright Girl Can Do.
A hard-worker, tomboy and suffragette.
Book/s That Made Me Cry
I haven’t cried at any books this year (I’m not emotional enough to even feel sad in Titanic…) though The Weight Of A Thousand Feathers nearly made me burst and also The Fault In Our Stars (but we’ve all heard that before).
Book/s That Made Me Happy
Things A Bright Girl Can Do brings back great memories of reading Opal Plumstead by Jaqueline Wilson. JW is a children’s author that I used to be obsessed with. Being a totally innocent 8 year old is the best time of your life, and that was when I read JW!
Most Gorgeous Book Cover
Books I Want To Read By The End Of The Year
Pride And Prejudice – Jane Austin
Six Of Crows, Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo
Thanks again Rhi for allowing me to take part in this tag! I hope you go over to her blog and check out her latest posts!
I nominate:
and any other bookish blogger to take part in this tag!
What are you reading at the moment? What are you hoping to read in the second part of this year?
Happy reading,

I honestly don’t recognize any of these books except for some classics, but Six of Crows…😍😍😍😍
They’re saying that Leigh is considering a third book for the sequel…but before you read it, I call dibs on Kaz 😂

Awesome round-up, and that Brignall cover really is pretty! I haven’t come across The Weight Of A Thousand Feathers but I’ll make a note to check it out and prepare myself for some emotional upheaval! xx
